How does it work?                                                                                                          

The Revitalight Acne System uses intense blue LED (Light Emitting Diodes) to create an oxygented skin environment while penetrating the skin with intense pulsating blue light.  The blue light kills bacteria that causes acne.

Are there any side effects?                                                                                                  

No, the treatment is relaxing and the client feels no pain during or after the treatment.  There are no known side effects.

What is Acne and what causes it?                                                                                      

Affecting over 80% of adolescents and many adults, acne is a disease involving the skin's sebaceous glands.

Acne occurs when oil produced by the sebaceous glands does not reach the surface of the skin, but is trapped in tiny pores or follicles.  This plug may close off the pore, causing the follicle walls to bulge, which creates a whitehead.  If the pore stays open, the top surface of the plug may become darkened, causing a blackhead.  In both cases, the acne bacteria thrives in the clogged follicles. When the bacteria and the pus leak from the follicles into the surrounding tissues pimples are formed.  Fortunately, acne can be successfully treated with the Revitalight Acne System by killing the bacteria which causes the acne.
